Ed Healy,
Chief Executive Officer

 
 

Mr. Healy has been in management, marketing and engineering roles in the semiconductor industry most recently at Silicon Laboratories, where he started that company’s wireless business and was integral in their success. While at Silicon Labs, a global leader in mixed-signal circuit technology with 2004 revenues of $456 million, Mr. Healy served as vice president and general manager of the Wireless Division. He grew the wireless business from a start-up venture in 1998 to a business generating over half the company’s total revenue. Prior to his experience at Silicon Labs, Mr. Healy spent 6 years with the Magnetic Storage Division at Crystal Semiconductor/Cirrus Logic, most recently as General Manager. Before joining Cirrus Logic in 1992, Mr. Healy headed Zilog Inc.’s effort to bring to market the first dual processor solution for the mass storage market. His experience in the semiconductor field also includes serving as Marketing Engineer, Mixed Signal Business Unit, at GEC Plessey Semiconductors.

Mr. Healy holds a BS in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point , an MS in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, an MBA from Santa Clara University and an MS in Management from Stanford University.

Ed served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army from 1977 to 1988, where he held a number of leadership positions. He was also an associate professor in electrical engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

 
 

 

 

John Trezza,
President and Chief Technology Officer

 
 

Dr. Trezza has over 10 years of experience in the area of optical and electronic devices, process hybridization development and modules for use in data communications. Prior to his most recent position as head of the Electro-Optics group at Sanders, a division of Lockheed Martin, he was a research faculty member at Stanford University where he directed a group of 25 students and made pioneering contributions in high speed electronic, optical, and opto-electronic design and development as well as in high speed data communications chips. He has over 40 publications and journal presentations and has served on program committees for technical conferences for the OSA and SPIE.

Dr. Trezza was graduated Summa Cum Laude from Princeton University with a B.S.E. and received an M.S.E.E. and Ph.D from Stanford University.

 
 

 

 

Abhay Misra,
Vice President, Engineering and Manufacturing Operations

 
 

Abhay Misra brings extensive semiconductor experience to his position as Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing Operations. Formerly of Silicon Laboratories, Misra served as Director of Manufacturing Technology and Supplier Management. In this role, Misra was responsible for defining and executing the company's manufacturing strategies and outlining the company's multi-million dollar technology roadmap. Prior to joining Silicon Labs, Mr. Misra served as Director of Worldwide Foundry Operations for Cyrix Corporation. In this position, Misra focused on developing fabless operations strategies, including strong outsourced Assembly and Foundry supplier relations. He directed all product lines from market introduction to volume processing.

He gained valuable experience in his role as Senior Product/Device Engineer for Dallas Semiconductor, Research Engineer for the American Research Corporation, and Semiconductor Device Characterization lab manager at Louisiana State University.

Mr. Misra holds an MSEE from Louisiana State University and a BSEE also from Louisiana State University.


 
 

 

Board of Directors

Ralph E. Gomory is a Director of the Company. Mr. Gomory is the President of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization, and serves on the board of directors of The Washington Post Company, Lexmark International, Inc., and the Polaroid Corporation. Prior to joining the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Mr. Gomory held a number of positions with IBM, including Director of IBM’s Mathematical Sciences Department, Director of Research and Senior Vice President for Science and Technology. In addition, Mr. Gomory was a member of IBM’s Corporate Management Board. Mr. Gomory retired from IBM in 1989. Mr. Gomory graduated from Williams College in 1950, studied at Cambridge University and received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Princeton University in 1954.

Russ Johnsen is a Director of the Company. Russ Johnsen is CEO of the Occtane Group, a start up company developing a new electronic point of decision advertising media, and President of Delumina, Inc., a strategic technology consulting and investment firm. He is lead outside director of Mercury Computer Systems, Inc., as well as a director of three venture capital backed private companies, including Cubic Wafer. Mr. Johnsen previously served as VP for Corporate Business Development and VP/General Manager of the Communications Products Division at Analog Devices. Prior to Analog Devices, Mr. Johnsen filled various senior management roles at National Semiconductor Corp. He holds a Bachelors Degree from MIT.

Kevin B. Kimberlin is a Director of the Company. Mr. Kimberlin is Chairman of the Board of Spencer Trask & Co., and has been an early stage investor in a variety of high-technology oriented start-up companies. Beginning in 1998, Mr. Kimberlin was the General Partner of Next Level Communications, LP, a $500 million partnership with General Instrument Corp., a division of Motorola, Inc., until its initial public offering in November of 1999. Next Level is engaged in optical broadband enabling systems for telecommunication companies. In 1993, he was one of the initial equity investors in Ciena Corporation, an optical systems company. In 1987, Mr. Kimberlin, with Dr. Jonas Salk, co-founded The Immune Response Corporation where he serves on the board of directors. Mr. Kimberlin received a B.S. in Finance with Honors from Indiana University and an MBA from Harvard University.

Dr. Arda M. Minocherhomjee is a Director of the Company. Dr. Minocherhomjee is a founding Partner of Chicago Growth Partners. Prior to founding CGP, Dr. Minocherhomjee was a Managing Director at William Blair Capital Partners and, currently, is a Managing Director and member of the Board of Managers of WBCP VI and VII. Prior, Dr. Minocherhomjee was a Senior Healthcare Analyst at William Blair & Company. As head of the firm’s Healthcare Research Group, Dr. Minocherhomjee covered several sectors, including drugs/drug delivery, medical devices and selected healthcare services. He was a Wall Street Journal “All-Star Analyst” in both medical device and pharmaceutical sectors. Select current and past directorships include: Atherogenics, Inc., CryoCor, Inc., Cypress Medical Products, DJ Pharma, Inc., Genoptix, Inhibitex, Inc., Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals, NuVasive, Inc., PharmaResearch Corporation, POINT Biomedical, Proteome, Inc. and Zycos, Inc. Dr. Minocherhomjee received a MS (Pharmacology) from the University of Toronto, a Ph.D and a MBA from the University of British Columbia, and was a post-doctoral fellow in Pharmacology at the University of Washington Medical School

Milton Pappas is a Director of the Company. Mr. Pappas has been a venture capital investor since 1966, when he was a Vice President at Drexel Harriman Ripley. Since founding Euclid Partners in 1970, he has been a general partner in four Euclid partnerships and in EuclidSR Partners, where he has worked with successful companies in communications, data management, the Internet and healthcare. Milton is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Marshall Law School. He is also a CFA Charterholder.

Mio Stojkovich is a Director of the Company. Mr. Stojkovich is Vice President at Chicago Growth Partners. Previously, he was a Principal with PRTM, a management consulting firm focusing on the high-technology sector. During his tenure at PRTM, he assisted venture-backed start-ups as well as Fortune 100 companies with their business strategy, product development, marketing strategies and operations. His clients spanned multiple industries and technologies including broadband, software, semiconductors, as well as wireless and wireline services and technologies. Prior to joining PRTM, Mio worked for Motorola in their Cellular Infrastructure Group focusing on Latin America, Asia, Middle East and Africa. He held staff and line positions including: Systems Engineering, Strategic Marketing and Business Development. He currently sits on the Boards of Compete, Inc. and SilverTrain. Mio holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a MBA from the University of Chicago.

Kevin Wilson is a Director of the Company. Mr. Wilson is a Managing Director of Envest and serves as a member of the Envest I and Envest II Investment Committees. Kevin has a background in strategic consulting, corporate executive leadership, successful entrepreneurship and private equity management. Kevin began his career as a consultant at Bain & Company; co-founded Benny’s Bagels, a successful chain of 28 stores; served as CEO of South African Airway’s Technical; and before joining Envest was Senior Managing Director of Discovery Americas I, a $50 million private equity fund based in Mexico City, Mexico. He holds a business degree from the University of Western Ontario.
